Neharika Gambhir, the first Fijian analog astronaut in America, embodies both honor and humility in her groundbreaking achievement. After moving to the United States in 2019 and being adopted by her relatives, Neharika has remained dedicated to her studies. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, which she expects to complete next year. Additionally, she works as a cybersecurity engineer, a position she secured after completing a rigorous six-month boot camp training to become industry certified.

Over the next five years, Neharika plans to finish her degree and pursue a PhD in Computational Neurology, focusing on the effects of vascular malformations on astronauts, particularly women.
Her Fijian heritage deeply influences her identity, and she takes pride in representing her culture. Although it has been several years since her last visit to Fiji, she envisions returning after achieving her future goals.
