Fijian Teachers Association Prepares for $23 Million Building Investment

The Fijian Teachers Association (FTA) is currently awaiting the final valuation report for a $23 million building set to be constructed by the end of this year at their headquarters in Suva. Paula Manumanunitoga, the FTA general secretary, noted that the association has contracted local engineer and architect Ulaiasi Baivatu to create the initial plans for the building.

Additionally, property valuation expert Keni Dakuidreketi has been enlisted to provide the valuation report. Manumanunitoga mentioned that Dakuidreketi has verbally indicated that the building’s value would exceed $23,000.

Discussions with three commercial banks regarding financing for the project are progressing positively, leading Manumanunitoga to express confidence in securing the necessary funds. The banks showing interest include BSP, HFC, Merchant Bank, Westpac Bank, and potentially the Bank of Baroda.
