Fijian Drua Academy players Seremaia Salikoro and Sefania Naqama are set to embark on an exciting new journey at Tauranga Boys College, where they have been awarded full scholarships as part of a partnership between the Fiji Drua and the college.

Salikoro, who hails from Natabua High School, will receive a scholarship covering three years, while Naqama, a student from Sila Central High School in Nausori, has been awarded a two-year scholarship. The players were selected by Tauranga Boys College’s First XV Coach, Regan Ward, and Senior Rugby Coordinator Aidan Kuka, who recognized their potential during a week-long collaboration with the Drua.

Fijian Drua General Manager Baden Stephenson expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing that it will provide life-changing opportunities for both scholarship recipients. “Salikoro and Naqama, both just 16 years old, will gain an excellent education, experience a new culture, and be immersed in an elite rugby environment,” he stated.

After completing their scholarships, both players are expected to return to the Fijian Drua, with ongoing support and collaboration planned between the players and the rugby program while they are in New Zealand. This initiative underscores a strong commitment to developing not just skilled athletes but also well-rounded individuals both on and off the field.

This scholarship opportunity is a testament to the broader vision of nurturing talent and fostering cultural exchange through sports, providing these young athletes with invaluable experiences that could shape their futures positively.
