Fijian Stars Shine in French Top 14 Showdown

A Flying Fijian utility back delivered an impressive performance in the French Top 14 competition on Saturday. Bayonne center Sireli Maqala showcased his skills in a strong partnership with former England star Manu Tuilagi, leading their team to a 32-15 victory over Racing 92. Maqala scored a try in the 45th minute, with tighthead prop Luke Tagi coming off the bench to contribute to the win. Racing 92 featured powerful winger Josua Tuisova in their lineup.

In other matches, elusive winger Jiu ta Wainiqolo contributed to Toulon’s 30-17 victory over Montpellier, while he was partnered on the wing by utility back Seta Tuicuvu. Meanwhile, Flying Fijian second-five eighth Adrea Cocagi received a red card in the 20th minute in Castres’ 35-13 win against Stade Francais. Veteran Leone Nakarawa played at lock, while Setareki Turagacoke started from the bench for Stade Francais.

Semi Radradra faced a yellow card for Lyon in their narrow 29-26 defeat to USA Perpignan. Both Radradra and Sam Matavesi began the game on the bench, while Perpignan’s Tavite Veredamu scored a try in injury time, and Eneriko Buliruarua played at center.

Toulouse, featuring burly winger Setareki Bituniyata, managed a close 22-14 victory over Pau, who had Lekima Tagitagivalu listed on the bench.
