The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. The club made the announcement in a statement last Friday, expressing confidence that Koroiduadua will significantly enhance their front row as they seek to build on recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).

At 25 years old, Koroiduadua hails from Nalebaleba, Nadroga, and began his career with the Drua in its inaugural season in 2022 after spending two years with Clermont in the French Top 14. He was also a member of the Drua team back in 2019.

The statement highlighted Koroiduadua as a rising star in Fiji’s rugby scene, promising to bring exceptional power and physicality to the Free Jacks’ lineup. With over 20 appearances for the Fijian Drua in three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific, along with two caps for the Flying Fijians, including participation in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, he boasts an impressive resume.

In addition to his experience with the Drua, Koroiduadua has played for Nadroga in the Skipper Cup and has represented Fiji at the Under-20 level. The club praised him as a formidable scrummager, emphasizing his role in the Drua’s effective scrum last season. Weighing in at 255 pounds, he is recognized for his strength and ability to make an impact, both with and without the ball, making him a valuable asset for the Free Jacks’ forward pack.

The Free Jacks also announced New Zealand lock Sam Caird as another international signing for the season.
