Fijian Seasonal Workers Embrace Community in Australia at Church Conference

Fijians residing in Australia have gathered for the annual conference of the Methodist Church this week, marking the first time such participation has occurred. Approximately 40 individuals attended, including seasonal workers who have obtained new contracts, allowing them to extend their stay in Australia for a few more years.

Reverend Moape Siginisucuvinaka, the team leader from Griffith, Australia, noted that these workers have integrated into various Methodist church branches and have played vital roles within the community. He expressed satisfaction at their involvement in church activities, stating that the purpose of the conference is to encourage them to continue their faithful service to God.

Seasonal worker and youth representative Seremaia Raibevu shared that they feel blessed to be part of the group. He acknowledged the challenges of living in Australia, particularly for those coming from close-knit communities in Fiji, emphasizing that faith in God is their only answer to these difficulties.
