Fijians residing in Australia have actively participated in the annual conference of the Methodist Church this week, marking the first time for many. Approximately 40 individuals attended, including seasonal workers who have recently secured new contracts that will extend their stays in Australia for a few more years.

Reverend Moape Siginisucuvinaka, the team leader from Griffith, Australia, noted that these workers have integrated into local Methodist church branches and have played essential roles within the community. “Many of them have joined us, and we are pleased they have been very involved in church activities. We have come for this conference to encourage them to continue serving God faithfully,” he stated.

Seremaia Raibevu, a seasonal worker and youth representative, expressed gratitude for being part of the group. He remarked, “Australia is not an easy place to live in, especially when coming from a closely knit community in our village, so God is the only answer.”
