The government of Fiji is introducing substantial tax benefits to foster the growth of two vital sports ventures. Donations exceeding $10,000, aiming to assist Fiji’s bid to host the 2031 Pacific Games, will qualify for a 200% tax deduction. In the same vein, any contributions upwards of $250,000 towards supporting Fiji’s attempt to join the National Rugby League (NRL) will also be eligible for a 200% tax deduction. Additionally, if the NRL bid proves successful, the relevant organization will reap a 13-year tax break and duty waivers akin to those provided to the Fijian Drua.
