The Fijian Drua has officially appointed Josefa Vanuaca as its new Head of Sales, a role that merges the previously distinct departments of Ticketing, Hospitality, and Sponsorship Servicing. This new position comes following the departure of Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who have moved on to pursue different opportunities.
Bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in business development, finance, and project management, Vanuaca is highly qualified for his new role. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting and Information Systems, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change. Before joining the Drua, he worked with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Shane Hussein, the General Manager of Commercial for the Fijian Drua, expressed excitement about Vanuaca’s appointment during this significant growth phase for the club. He emphasized the Drua’s goal of exploring additional revenue streams while enhancing ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship services. He noted that Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the Head of Marketing and Fan Experience, to improve access to Drua events for fans and corporate clients. In his message, Hussein also acknowledged the contributions made by the former team members.
Vanuaca shared his enthusiasm about joining the Drua, highlighting the personal significance of the opportunity, particularly as he has long admired Super Rugby Pacific. He regards this role as a proud moment for his family.
As the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season approaches, tickets and hospitality packages for home games are already available. The Drua will kick off their season with a match against the Brumbies on February 15 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
This leadership change represents not just a new chapter for the Fijian Drua, but also an opportunity to increase engagement with fans and enhance the overall experience. With Vanuaca’s expertise and passion for the sport, there is much to look forward to in the upcoming season.
