The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has announced the appointment of Josefa Vanuaca as the club’s new Head of Sales. This position is a newly created role that merges the previous separate functions of ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship servicing.

Vanuaca is a seasoned business development professional with over 15 years of experience in business development, finance, and project management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, focusing on Accounting and Information Systems, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change. Prior to joining the Fijian Drua, he worked with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the country’s international business development agency.

According to Shane Hussein, the General Manager Commercial of Fijian Drua, Vanuaca joins the organization during an exciting phase of growth. The club is actively seeking to diversify revenue streams while enhancing its ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship services. “Fans are at the center of everything we do in the Drua back office,” Hussein emphasized. Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the Head of Marketing and Fan Experience, to ensure that all Drua events are easily accessible and enjoyable for both fans and corporate clients.

Vanuaca expressed his joy at the opportunity, stating, “When I got the call to join the Fijian Drua, I felt immense pride and joy. Super Rugby Pacific has been a significant part of my childhood, and now being given the opportunity to be part of it through the Fijian Drua is a dream come true.” He also shared this proud moment with his family, including his wife Mari and their children, Joseph and Abigail.
