Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s CEO, Mark Evans, has expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby season, calling it the most exciting fixture list they’ve had in four years. The team will host seven notable rugby teams, with their first match against the Brumbies at home, marking the first time the Brumbies have played a competitive game in Fiji, making it a significant event.
Evans pointed out that fans can look forward to matches against reigning champions, the Blues, and the consistently strong Crusaders, both of whom will be playing in Suva. The anticipated match against the Chiefs is also highlighted, along with the fact that the Highlanders have yet to visit Fiji.
He emphasized a preference for a 4-3 split in home games between Suva and Lautoka, a situation that was not feasible last season due to stadium upgrades that limited their schedule to a 2-5 split, which he noted was not favorable from a commercial perspective.
Evans remarked on the success of a previous night game, which was sold out and included a doubleheader, expressing hope that the night game against the Blues would replicate that success due to its high appeal. He believes the fixture list for the upcoming season is the most attractive in recent years and is encouraging fans to support their team by attending the matches.
