Fijian Drua Players Score Big Scholarships in New Zealand!

The Fijian Drua is celebrating the achievement of two of its academy players, Seremaia Salikoro and Sefanaia Naqama, who have both received scholarships from the prestigious Tauranga Boys College in New Zealand. This opportunity comes as a part of the Drua’s strategic partnership with the college, aimed at enhancing the players’ education and rugby skills.

Salikoro, who is currently a student at Natabua High School, has been awarded a three-year scholarship, while Naqama, attending Sila Central High School in Nausori, will benefit from a two-year scholarship. The talents of both players were recognized by Tauranga Boys College’s First XV coach, Regan Ward, and Senior Rugby coordinator Aidan Kuka, who spent a week with the Drua to identify promising athletes.

Fijian Drua General Manager Baden Stephenson expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing that it represents a significant opportunity for both young players. He noted, “The partnership will be a life-changing experience for our first two scholarship holders.
