Fijian Community Unites in Australia for First Methodist Conference

Fijians residing in Australia have participated in the annual Methodist Church conference for the first time this week. Approximately 40 attendees were present, including seasonal workers who have obtained new contracts, allowing them to extend their stay in Australia for several more years.

Reverend Moape Siginisucuvinaka, the team leader from Griffith, Australia, mentioned that these workers have integrated into local Methodist church branches and have played vital roles within the community. “We are pleased that many of them have actively engaged in church activities, and we are here at this conference to encourage them to continue their faithful service to God,” he stated.

Seasonal worker and youth representative Seremaia Raibevu expressed gratitude for being part of the group. He acknowledged the challenges of living in Australia, especially coming from a closely-knit community in their village, emphasizing that “God is the only answer” to their struggles.
