Fijian Boxer ‘Hitman’ Star Shines in New Zealand Showdown!

Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca showcased his skills in New Zealand during the Fight Night IV event on Saturday. Kauyaca secured a unanimous decision victory against Kiwi boxer and MMA fighter Remus Leaf in their four-round match.

This marked Kauyaca’s first international fight as he gears up for a significant clash against New Zealand’s cruiserweight champion John Parker next month. Expressing gratitude on his social media, the former Queen Victoria School student thanked supporters who traveled long distances to be there for him.

“God bless to my old boys and family who came from far away to provide the much-needed support. Your cheer amongst the loud Kiwi crowd echoed in my ears,” Kauyaca wrote.

Looking ahead, he stated, “7th September. We are going to dance much better.” The ‘Hitman’ from Bukuya in Ba is set to face Parker on September 7 for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title in Hamilton. The 30-year-old joined CTP Boxing Promotions in March and is currently training under manager Farmaan Ali in New Zealand.
