Fiji Young Kulas Gear Up for Historic World Cup Debut

The Fiji Young Kulas will face Brazil in their opening match of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tomorrow, with clear goals in mind.

Assistant Coach Annette Nainima shared their aspirations, stating they aim to perform admirably and secure their first-ever goal in a World Cup setting. She expressed the pride this moment brings to her, the players, and the officials, emphasizing the significance of participating in their inaugural World Cup. “It’s something monumental because no one ever imagined that Fiji’s women’s team would reach the World Cup. But here we are,” she remarked.

Nainima added that the support from their families back home has been immense, with many eagerly anticipating to watch their games live on television.

The Young Kulas will compete against Brazil at 11 AM on Sunday, September 1, followed by matches against Canada at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 4, and France at 10 AM on Saturday, September 7, all in Fiji time.
