The Fiji Young Kulas are set to make their debut at the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup as they face Brazil tomorrow, with clear objectives in mind. Assistant Coach Annette Nainima emphasized their desire to perform well and achieve their first-ever World Cup goal.
“This is a proud moment for us, for me, the players, and all the officials,” she stated in an interview with OFC Media. “It’s our first World Cup, and being able to share this experience and its stories with our families and loved ones is monumental. Many never believed that the Fiji women’s team would reach the World Cup, but here we are.”
Nainima expressed confidence, noting that their families back home are eagerly waiting to watch them compete live on television. “We’re just going to give our best,” she affirmed.
Fiji’s first match against Brazil will kick off at 11am on Sunday, September 1, followed by games against Canada at 1pm on Wednesday, September 4, and France at 10am on Saturday, September 7, all scheduled according to Fiji time.
