Fiji Young Kulas Aim for Historic Moment at World Cup Debut

The Fiji Young Kulas are set to compete against Brazil in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tomorrow, with specific aspirations in mind.

Assistant Coach Annette Nainima expressed their goal is to perform well and secure the team’s first-ever goal in a World Cup. She described the event as a significant moment for both her and the players, along with the officials involved.

“This is our first World Cup, and being able to share these experiences with our families, children, and loved ones is monumental, as no one believed that the Fiji women’s team would reach this level. But here we are,” she stated to OFC Media.

Nainima noted the support from their families back home, who are excited to watch the matches live. She emphasized that the team will strive to give their best performance.

Fiji will face Brazil in their inaugural World Cup match at 11am on Sunday, September 1, followed by a match against Canada at 1pm on Wednesday, September 4, and lastly, they will take on France at 10am on Saturday, September 7, all according to Fiji time.
