The Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team claimed their second victory at the OFC Futsal Women’s Nations Cup by defeating Tonga 4-0.

The team, coached by Jerry Sam, got off to a fantastic start, scoring just ten seconds into the match. Sofi Diyalowai capitalized on a mistake by the Tongan defense, confidently sending the ball past goalkeeper Kalolaine Topui.

Despite the early setback, Tonga responded admirably, working to limit Fiji’s time and space to capitalize on their lead. Koleta Likuculacula was a key player for Tonga, but she was unable to score, with Topui delivering a strong performance that kept the score at 1-0 going into halftime.

After the break, Tonga faltered again, conceding an early goal. Likuculacula, building on her impressive performance from the previous match, found the net, which effectively sealed the outcome for Tonga.

Both teams will take a day off before Fiji faces New Zealand, while Tonga will take on the hosts, Solomon Islands.
