Fiji Unveils Landmark Foreign Policy White Paper: A New Era Begins

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced the release of Fiji’s first Foreign Policy White Paper 2024, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s foreign services. During the launch, Rabuka emphasized that this document represents the first initiative of its kind for Fiji, detailing the nation’s foreign policy priorities and providing a strategic framework for international engagements over the next decade.

Rabuka stated that the Foreign Policy reflects the government’s dedication to securing Fiji’s position in the global community and ensuring a bright and secure future for all citizens. He acknowledged that the policy outlines a strategy to address the complex foreign policy challenges facing the nation and serves as a clear declaration of Fiji’s stance and role in the international arena.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Fiji aims to reaffirm its status as a key hub in the Pacific region. Moreover, Rabuka noted that the Foreign Policy aligns with Fiji’s National Development Plan and is intended to respond to the findings of the current National Security and Defence Review.
