Over 200 individuals gathered for a fundraiser dinner organized in partnership with Samson Lee Fiji, Sheraton Fiji Golf and Resort, and Rosie Events on Saturday at the Sheraton’s Denarau Island Convention Center. The event aimed to raise funds to support individuals with cancer in the Western region.
Prominent fashion designer Samson Lee, who lost his sister to cancer, emphasized the importance of cancer awareness in his life. He stated, “This one is so important for me, as I normally do charity events every year, but this one holds a special place in my heart, as my sister passed away from cancer.” Lee noted that he dedicates October each year to charitable contributions, underscoring the personal significance of the cause.
Lee expressed his appreciation for the significant turnout, which demonstrated the community’s genuine support for the noble cause. Silvano Dressino, general manager of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, described the event as a wonderful partnership, aimed at supporting cancer patients in the West. He added, “Since Marriott celebrates Pinktober and has a long history of doing good and serving communities, it was an absolute pleasure for us to provide this venue. We are pleased with the outcome, as the proceeds will go towards these cancer patients.”
