Fiji Tech Summit: A Leap Toward Digital Transformation in the Pacific

The Fiji Tech Summit marks an important milestone in the technological development of the Pacific region. Datec chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua emphasized this during his welcoming speech at the 2024 summit in Nadi, themed “Connecting Pacific.”

Mr. Tikoduadua noted that over the past two years, the summit has become the largest technology event in the Pacific, facilitating connections with global tech leaders and helping to establish a technological roadmap for the region. He credited the success of the event to Datec’s dedicated team and their international partners committed to enhancing technology in Fiji and the Pacific.

He stressed that technology is essential for driving change in today’s world, enabling innovations and adaptations even amid significant challenges. The focus for island nations, he said, is to fulfill and surpass their economic and productivity goals through ongoing technological advancement and a shift towards a digital economy.

Mr. Tikoduadua highlighted that technological innovation is vital for enhancing productivity and prosperity. He called the Fiji Tech Summit a valuable platform for advancing the digital transformation journey occurring in Fiji and throughout the South Pacific. He remarked on the varying stages at which organizations are engaging in digital transformation and emphasized the collective responsibility to accelerate this progress, nurture innovation, and promote ongoing growth.

He expressed gratitude to the vendors participating in the exhibition, underscoring their role in facilitating direct connections with delegates and addressing the specific needs of Pacific customers. Their commitment to technological advancement in the region is greatly appreciated.
