Fiji Targets Drug Trade: Positive Steps Ahead!

The Minister of Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua, expressed a positive outlook regarding recent drug arrests in Fiji, including that of a significant figure in the country’s drug trade. He emphasized that while these arrests are an important aspect of law enforcement, they represent only one part of a broader strategy.

Tikoduadua highlighted the focus on harm reduction and consumption decrease as essential components of Fiji’s National Counter Narcotics Strategy. He called on parents and the community to take greater responsibility in addressing drug-related issues.

In a related development, Minister for Health Dr. Atonio Lalabalavu is scheduled to make a statement in Parliament this week concerning the advancements made in drug rehabilitation centers across the nation.
