Team Fiji swimmer David Young has achieved a new personal best at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Young won his Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a time of 22.71 seconds at the Olympics.
His previous personal best was 22.87 seconds, set at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan.
David Young has made his nation proud by setting a new national record in the Men’s 50m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Coach Willie Elaisa praised Young’s achievement, noting that competing against world-class swimmers and finishing first in his heat has been a highlight of their journey.
Young has already planned his next steps following the Olympic Games.
He finished 40th out of 73 swimmers after winning heat 5.
