Fiji Sets Up Human Rights Taskforce: What’s Next?

The Fiji Human Rights Taskforce (FHRTF) will be led by the Office of the Attorney-General, which will oversee efforts to ensure that Fiji meets its international human rights obligations. This initiative comes after Cabinet approval of the Taskforce. The FHRTF will be responsible for coordinating Fiji’s interactions with various international human rights bodies, including the United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies, the Universal Periodic Review, and the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, while also monitoring the implementation of their recommendations.
