Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced Fiji’s official bid to host the 2031 Pacific Games during the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards held at HFC Bank Stadium. He stated that Fiji has made a formal submission to host the regional athletic event through FASANOC, which will present the bid next month in Palau.
Mr. Rabuka emphasized that the People’s Coalition Government is dedicated to supporting sports development across all levels. He mentioned, “We will continue to invest in our athletes, enhance our sports infrastructure, and foster inclusivity within sports.” He highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for all Fijians, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, or ability, to engage in sports and achieve their aspirations.
