Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced Fiji’s intention to host the 2031 Pacific Games during the 2023 Fiji Sports Awards at HFC Bank Stadium. He revealed that Fiji has officially submitted a proposal to host the regional athletics event through FASANOC.
Rabuka noted that FASANOC is scheduled to present Fiji’s bid in Palau next month. He emphasized that the People’s Coalition Government is dedicated to advancing sports development at all levels.
“We will continue to invest in our athletes, enhance our sports infrastructure, and promote inclusivity in sports,” he stated. He acknowledged the importance of providing opportunities for all Fijians, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or ability, to engage in sports and achieve their aspirations.
