Approximately 45 golfers took part in the Swire Shipping 42nd Fiji Senior Golf Open on its opening day at Vatuwaqa yesterday. The weather was ideal, featuring clear skies and favorable conditions for the competitors.
Manjoor Begg, a member of Fiji Golf, shared his excitement about the event, noting the vibrant atmosphere and the chance to compete with fellow golfers. With more than 20 years of experience in the sport, Begg appreciates golf for its capacity to keep him active and facilitate social connections with friends.
The competition level was anticipated to be high, with professional golfers present and all participants striving for success over the three-day event. “Playing alongside professional golfers is a fantastic experience, and it’s wonderful to see everyone coming together to enjoy three days of competition,” Begg remarked.
He also extended his thanks to the event’s sponsor, Swire Shipping, and to everyone involved in organizing the competition. As the golfers headed into the second day today, they braced for increased challenges from their peers.
The tournament will wrap up on Thursday with a Prize Giving and Dinner event at Yue Lai Restaurant in Flagstaff.
