Fiji has been awarded the opportunity to host the 2026 Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) Summit. The announcement was made during a PINA Board meeting, where Stanley Simpson, the General Secretary of the Fiji Media Association, outlined plans for this significant event.
Simpson revealed that the 2026 Summit will be held in Savusavu, which he referred to as a hidden paradise in Fiji. He emphasized that Savusavu provides an exceptional backdrop for this regional media gathering.
Moreover, Simpson expressed the Association’s commitment to initiating a new era for media in Fiji, aiming to demonstrate to the world that Fiji is making a strong comeback. He highlighted the goal of creating an environment that fosters a completely free media landscape.
