Fiji Schools Basketball Championships Kick Off with Exciting Matchups!

The Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championships are set to kick off today at Lautoka’s Multi Purpose Court. Laisiasa Puamau, the Chief Operations Officer of Fiji Basketball, expressed his excitement about the significant participation this year, with 70 teams registered for the three-day tournament.

“This year, we are pleased to welcome teams from Lautoka Muslim, Votualevu College, and the return of St. Thomas High School. RKS has also joined us this year,” Puamau stated.

In the U15 Boys category, Pool A boasts strong competitors such as ISS, SGS, and MBHS 2, along with CCL, ISN, and SHC. Meanwhile, Pool B features a competitive lineup including YSS, MBHS 1, LDS, Tilak High School, and FAMS, promising intense rivalries.

For the U15 Girls, Pool A includes YSS, LDS, ISN, and CCL, while Pool B features SGS, SJSS, Votualevu College, and ISS, setting the stage for a tightly contested tournament.

In the U17 Boys division, Pool A comprises CCL, SVC, RKS, SGS, and MBHS 2. Pool B includes LDS, NHS, ISN, QVS, and ISS, while Pool C features YSS, THS, FAMS, and MBHS 1.

The U17 Girls division presents Pool A with teams such as THS, NHS, SGS, GHS, and SJSS Blue. Pool B consists of CCL, SVC, SJSS White, YSS, and LDS, indicating exciting matchups ahead.

For the U19 Boys, Pool A consists of MBHS 1, FAMS, CCL, JWC, and QVS. Pool B will include YSS, SGS, and Votualevu College, along with LMC and MBHS 2. Pool C features LDS, SVC, STHS, THS, and Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS).

In the U19 Girls category, Pool A includes ACS, LDS, FAMS, and SJSS, while Pool B includes SGS, YSS, SVC, and ISS, all vying for a place in the finals.

The championship is expected to showcase high-energy games, impressive performances, and unforgettable moments for players and fans alike.
