The Vodafone Fiji Schoolboys U18 secured their second victory over their Australian rivals, winning 34-25 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this afternoon.
After losing 26-14 to the Fijians the previous week, the Australian team aimed for a comeback and started strong, taking an early lead of 10-0 through a converted try and a penalty.
However, the Fiji Schoolboys responded impressively, notching three tries from Waisake Vakacere, Raymond Navunikaba, and Ratu Epeli Roseruvakula, along with a penalty kick from Isikeli Bari, which gave them a 22-10 lead at halftime.
The Australian Schoolboys returned for the second half with renewed determination, adding ten points to bring the score within two points. Nevertheless, Fiji’s winger Nathan Stephens and Asaeli Gade scored two more tries, ultimately clinching the victory and the two-match series for Fiji.
