The Vodafone Fiji Schoolboys U18 team triumphed over their Australian rivals for the second consecutive time, securing a 34-25 victory at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. Following their previous loss to the Fijians, where they were defeated 26-14, the Australian squad aimed to bounce back and made a strong start, taking an early 10-0 lead with a converted try and a penalty.
However, the Fiji Schoolboys responded effectively, scoring three tries from Waisake Vakacere, Raymond Navunikaba, and Ratu Epeli Roseruvakula, along with a penalty kick from Isikeli Bari, ending the first half with a 22-10 advantage.
In the second half, the Australian team returned with increased determination, adding ten more points to cut the deficit to just two points. Despite their efforts, it was Fiji’s winger Nathan Stephens and Asaeli Gade who scored two crucial tries, ultimately clinching the series for Fiji with their second win.
