BJ Mather has resigned from his position as General Manager of the Fiji Rugby Union’s High-Performance Unit due to personal reasons. Peter Mazey, the Chairman of the FRU Trust Board, acknowledged Mather’s departure and mentioned plans to discuss it further. Mather recently accompanied the Flying Fijians in the Pacific Nations Cup finals.
In the interim, Bill Gadolo will assume the role of Acting HPU General Manager. Mazey stated that the position will be officially advertised as it is supported by funding from World Rugby. He expressed hope that Gadolo will be appointed to the permanent role, noting his experience as Mather’s and Simon’s understudy.
