The Minister of Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, has stated that the Fiji Rugby Union trustees are ready to investigate accusations of corruption and delayed payments, provided that players can supply concrete evidence. During a session in Parliament, Saukuru acknowledged the allegations made by players but pointed out that no significant proof has been presented to support these claims. The trustees have conveyed their readiness to report credible information to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) or the police for further inquiry. While expressing concern about the issues raised by players, the trustees emphasized the necessity of reliable evidence before proceeding with any actions. Saukuru also confirmed that all players who represented Fiji in the 2023 Rugby World Cup have received full compensation from the Fiji Rugby Union.
