Fiji Rugby Legend Waisale Serevi Hospitalized in India

Fiji 7s rugby legend Waisale Serevi has been hospitalized in India due to chest pains. Serevi, who serves as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s 7s teams in India, led the women to a silver medal at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy in Nepal. He was admitted to the hospital on October 10.

Rugby India issued a statement on social media expressing their best wishes for Serevi’s recovery and informed that they would provide an update in 24 hours. They noted that Serevi is currently in stable condition and is in excellent spirits.

According to a report from Manipal Hospital, where Serevi is being treated, a coronary angiogram showed minor coronary artery disease. The hospital confirmed that he is stable and expected to be moved out of the ICU soon.

In addition, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka extended his warmest wishes to Serevi for a swift and complete recovery, stating that thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
