The Fiji Residence rugby league team is preparing for an exciting match against Samoa tomorrow, set to take place as part of the Vodafone Fiji Bati and Cook Islands Pacific Bowl event. Vula Dakuitoga, a former Fiji Bati player and current coach of the Residence team, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the game.

Dakuitoga stated, “The preparations are very good. The team spent the past week in camp at Uprising in Navua, focusing on refining their attack and defense strategies to ensure they are fully ready to take on Samoa.” He highlighted the significance of the upcoming match, noting the intense rivalry that typically characterizes encounters between the Pacific Island teams.

“This will be an exciting match; it’s just two Pacific Islands meeting each other,” Dakuitoga added. He recognized that Samoa will present a formidable challenge but remains optimistic about his team’s chances of victory. “Samoa will come in strong as we all know. They will be tough, but we won’t let them take the easy road as we will win this match,” he said.

In an effort to rally support from fans and families, especially after the Fiji Bati’s recent disappointing results, Dakuitoga encouraged everyone to attend the game in large numbers to show their support for the Fiji Residence, Fiji Bati, and Fiji Bulikula teams. He is determined to ensure that the team delivers an impressive performance and emerges victorious in the match.

Additionally, the team engaged with the community by visiting the Disability Centre in Suva yesterday, demonstrating their commitment both on and off the field. The Fiji Residents will face the Samoa Residents at 3:50 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
