Fiji has achieved the impressive rank of #3 in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel list for 2025. This list highlights the top 30 countries, regions, and cities globally, as selected by Lonely Planet’s team of travel experts.

As a prestigious travel publisher, Lonely Planet has established a reputation for providing insightful, practical, and thorough travel guides. Its publications cover a wide range of destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, offering trusted advice suitable for low- and mid-budget travelers. The guides include on-the-ground tips, cultural experiences, and local insights that help visitors fully appreciate each destination.

Brent Hill, the CEO of Tourism Fiji, commented on this recognition, stating, “While the primary focus of our efforts is to ensure that Fiji remains a premier destination for travelers, accolades like this are incredibly encouraging.” He emphasized that such achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of the entire tourism sector, including local businesses and hospitality professionals.

Hill added, “This recognition is a clear indication that we’re on the right track. However, it’s important to remember that this is not just about awards—it’s about ensuring our industry continues to grow sustainably and that the economic benefits of tourism are felt by all Fijians.” He stressed the importance of maintaining competitiveness and ongoing investments in Fiji’s tourism sector to foster economic growth, support local enterprises, and prioritize sustainability, stating, “This is the momentum we need to build upon.”
