The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has appointed Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Currently, Ms. Chand holds the position of Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited.
With over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, she has a strong emphasis on governance and financial management. Ms. Chand has worked in various sectors, including financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, across Fiji and other Pacific Island Countries.
Her knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) has been instrumental in successfully leading financial reporting conversions for major organizations.
Ms. Chand is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA). Additionally, she serves as a Council Member with FICA and is actively engaged in the community as the Treasurer of the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, stated that Ms. Chand’s extensive experience would greatly benefit the organization. Ms. Chand replaces Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
