The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has appointed Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Currently, Ms. Chand holds the position of Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited. She possesses more than 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, with a particular emphasis on governance and financial management.
Ms. Chand has worked in various domains including financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, both in Fiji and across other Pacific Island nations. Her proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) has allowed her to effectively lead financial reporting transformations for prominent organizations.
She is affiliated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), where she also serves as a Council Member. Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Chand is involved in community service as the Treasurer of the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, has expressed that Ms. Chand’s extensive background will significantly benefit the organization. Ms. Chand succeeds Verenaisi Takirua, who stepped down from the board in July 2024.
