The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has appointed Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Ms. Chand is currently the Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited and possesses over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, with an emphasis on governance and financial management.
She has worked in various sectors, including financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and governmental statutory bodies, both in Fiji and in other Pacific Island countries. Ms. Chand’s proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) has allowed her to successfully lead financial reporting transitions for several major organizations.
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), where she also serves as a Council Member. Additionally, she is actively engaged in her community as the Treasurer of the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, expressed that Ms. Chand’s extensive expertise will bring significant value to the organization. Ms. Chand takes the place of Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
