The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has appointed Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Currently the Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited, Ms. Chand brings with her over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, specializing in governance and financial management.
Her career spans various sectors, including financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, both in Fiji and throughout the Pacific Islands. Ms. Chand’s proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) has allowed her to successfully lead financial reporting conversions for major organizations.
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), where she also serves as a Council Member. In addition to her professional commitments, Ms. Chand is actively engaged in her community, holding the position of Treasurer for the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, expressed that Ms. Chand’s extensive experience will greatly enhance the organization. She replaces Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
