The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation has announced the appointment of Reshma Chand to its Board of Directors. Ms. Chand is currently the Director of Finance at Basic Industries Pte Limited and brings over 19 years of experience in finance and auditing, with a strong emphasis on governance and financial management.
Her diverse background includes work in various sectors such as financial services, utilities, tourism, hospitality, insurance, and government statutory bodies, both within Fiji and across other Pacific Island nations. Ms. Chand specializes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), which has allowed her to successfully lead financial reporting conversions for significant organizations.
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, and the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), where she also serves as a Council Member. Additionally, Ms. Chand is actively involved in her community, holding the position of Treasurer for the Fiji Chess Federation.
Liliana Warid, chairperson of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation, expressed confidence that Ms. Chand’s extensive experience would bring substantial value to the organization. Ms. Chand takes the place of Verenaisi Takirua, who resigned from the board in July 2024.
