Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently on a two-day official trip aimed at enhancing relations with New Zealand while celebrating Fiji Day with the Fijian community in Aotearoa. During his visit, Rabuka has met with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, along with New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts.
Accompanying him are the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lesi Korovavala, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka. The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to discuss vital areas of collaboration such as regional security, economic relations, and climate change, in line with the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership.
Rabuka has also been invited to preside over the Fiji Day festivities at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica will act as the Prime Minister. Following his visit to New Zealand, Rabuka will head to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next Wednesday.
