Fiji Prepares for Presidential Appointment: Who Will Take the Helm?

Parliament is set to convene at the end of this month to appoint Fiji’s President. The Business Committee has confirmed that the appointment will take place on the 31st of this month at 11 am. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to put forward the nomination for the current President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere. According to the 2013 Constitution, a president can serve a maximum of two terms in office.
