Fiji Prepares for Major Human Rights Review in Geneva

Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, for an interactive discussion on Fiji’s State Report during the upcoming 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group in January 2025. This follows the Cabinet’s approval of the submission of Fiji’s State Report to the UPR Working Group Secretariat. The UPR process, which is driven by member states, involves a review of each country’s human rights record every four to five years. Fiji’s previous review by the UPR Working Group took place in November 2019, and the fourth review will occur at the 48th session in January 2025.
