The National Development Plan is set to be officially launched on Tuesday, September 17. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof. Biman Prasad, who emphasized that the launch will mark a significant milestone for both the government and the citizens.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to preside over the launch of the National Development Plan. According to Prof. Prasad, the initiative has been developed through extensive consultations with both private and public stakeholders.
Prof. Prasad highlighted the importance of the National Development Plan, indicating that it will tackle and prioritize several key areas. During public consultations, Fijians brought attention to critical issues such as access to water, rural electrification, network connectivity, infrastructure improvements, and expanded healthcare services.
The new National Development Plan will encompass strategies for the next three years, five years, and a long-term vision spanning 20 years for Fiji. This document is expected to serve as a foundational blueprint for the country’s future.
