Fiji Police Urge Peaceful Solutions Amid Domestic Disturbance

The Fiji Police Force is encouraging citizens to resolve their conflicts peacefully and to avoid taking drastic actions that could endanger their health and safety. This plea follows an incident that occurred early in the morning along the Suva foreshore, near the Fiji Police Academy, where a police officer intervened in a domestic dispute.

According to police reports, the officer on duty at the Fiji Police Academy heard a couple arguing around 3 AM and went to investigate. Upon arrival, he found that a woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, was attempting to harm herself. The officer intervened to help her partner get her back to safety onshore and assisted the couple in addressing their issues.

The police are also reminding the public that alcohol is not a solution to problems and that excessive drinking can worsen unresolved conflicts, sometimes leading to severe harm or even fatal outcomes.
