Fiji Police Unveils Powerhouse Squad for Upcoming Sukuna Bowl Showdown

The Fiji Police Force has announced a strong 25-member squad for their football team as they gear up for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. This announcement comes following their participation in the inter-district championship (IDC), where the Western Two team claimed victory at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori last Saturday.

National representative and Lautoka striker Sairusi Nalaubu scored the decisive goal during extra time, leading to a narrow 1-0 win over the Police Mobile Forces (PMF). Team manager ASP Mohammed Riyaz dedicated the win to all dedicated police officers in the Western Division, stretching from Rakiraki to Sigatoka. The team last captured the title about five years ago.

“This victory is for our families and the division commander as well,” Riyaz stated. “It was a collaborative effort. The team trained intensively for a week while managing their work responsibilities to serve our communities.”

Seven players from the championship-winning team have been selected for the Sukuna Bowl squad. Riyaz expressed confidence in facing their rivals, stating, “We are eager to meet the men in green during the Sukuna Bowl, and we intend to give them a tough challenge.”
