The Fiji Police Force rugby team received vital support from Shop N Save supermarket as they prepare for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge. This marks the third consecutive year that the locally-owned supermarket has sponsored the Police Blues, who will defend the prestigious bowl against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on November 8 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
George Brown, the security consultant for Shop N Save Supermarket, presented the sponsorship and praised the officers for their efforts in community and nation building.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime, Mesake Waqa, who is also the president of the Police rugby team, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, which will aid the team’s logistics. “We are not underestimating our opponents,” he stated, highlighting the importance of the event for both forces as they showcase their skills.
Waqa acknowledged the military’s determination, noting, “I know our opponents from the military; they will also want to claim the bowl despite losing the Escott Shield over the weekend. I’m pretty sure that they are going to come out prepared for the Sukuna.”
