The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up for a fierce battle to keep the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl this year. This commitment was emphasized during a recent visit by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew and his command group to their training camp in Nadi.
Rugby president of the Fiji Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mesake Waqa, expressed that the players and officials are fully dedicated to defending their title for the sake of their organization, families, and loyal supporters. The Shop N Save Police Blues team is in high spirits as they prepare for their match against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) on November 9 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Waqa conveyed the Acting Commissioner’s message of humility, acknowledging that in competitions, every team trains with the intention of winning. While the Police Force is determined to retain their title, the RFMF will undoubtedly be equally motivated to secure a victory.
As the Fiji Police Force celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the focus is on excellence and preparing the best rugby team to honor their families, friends, and both past and current police officers. Waqa acknowledged the challenging road ahead, recognizing the competitive spirit of the RFMF, and extended well wishes to them as they prepare for the match.
Waqa also encourages all Police supporters to come out and show their support for the teams participating in the tournament, which will kick off with boxing competitions next Tuesday.
This annual event not only showcases the spirit of sportsmanship between the Fiji Police and the RFMF but also serves as an opportunity for camaraderie and community engagement, fostering pride and unity within the ranks of law enforcement and the wider public.
In a world filled with challenges, such events create a positive environment, bringing people together and highlighting the values of teamwork, respect, and perseverance. The upcoming match promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience for both teams and supporters alike.
