The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up to vigorously defend their title in the upcoming Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. During a recent visit to their training camp in Nadi, Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew emphasized the importance of determination to the team.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mesake Waqa, who serves as the president of Police Rugby, expressed that the players and officials are fully committed to fighting for their title for the sake of their organization, families, and supporters. The Shop N Save Police Blues are in a jubilant mood as they approach their match scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, where they will face the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).
Waqa shared that the Acting Commissioner highlighted the value of humility in competition, recognizing that while the Police team is eager to defend their title, the RFMF is equally determined to win. As the Fiji Police Force celebrates its 150th Anniversary, striving for excellence is paramount. The objective is to assemble the best rugby team that represents their community, including past and present officers.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Waqa noted the RFMF will undoubtedly give their all to achieve victory. He urged supporters to come out and back the Police team as they prepare for this important challenge. The tournament will kick off with boxing competitions on the following Tuesday.
This contest not only showcases athleticism but also highlights camaraderie and community spirit within the forces, making it an event eagerly anticipated by fans and families alike.
In summary, the Fiji Police Force rugby team’s commitment to excellence and family support shines through as they prepare to defend their title, promising an exciting match against the RFMF in the upcoming tournament.
